WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
EICI: English for International Communication Institute conducts a (10) ten month program, divided into two five-month terms. The intensive program runs from August to December (Christmas break), and from mid-January to the end of May (Graduation).
EICI uses a comprehensive and innovative approach to instructing English as a second language to students between the ages of 13 to 19 years old. The courses are divided into five main levels: beginner, low intermediate, intermediate, low advanced and advanced. Follow this link for more information on the EICI Level 1 to Level 5 programs.
On the first day of classes, students are assessed to determine their skill level via a written exam and oral interview. Students are then placed according to their current level of functional ability in the English language. Each student has the potential to advance throughout the year by 3 levels.
Vocabulary and Grammar are developed through the methodology of communication and oral instruction. Instructors work constantly to improve the students' speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills in the English language.
Students are expected to attend classes Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendance is extremely important for the successful completion of each course.
In order to maintain essential communication with the Parents, EICI will send out a written evaluation (report card) every six weeks. These reports provide Parents with regular updates on their son or daughter's progress throughout the school year, and attest to the student's attendance record for each class.
Sports are an integral part of the program. Students will participate in a sports program twice a week throughout the two semesters. Examples of sports include hockey, basketball, volleyball, and soccer.
Recognizing that not all learning takes place in the classroom, EICI offers a variety of out of class activities that will provide students with the opportunity to experience and interact with Canadian culture, economy, industry, sports etc.

- Grammar
- Writing
