LEVELS OF LEARNING
English for International Communication Institute (EICI) is comprised of a group of highly skilled instructors dedicated to teaching communicative competence in North American English. In order to improve the likelihood of success and achievement, students are placed in one of five levels prior to the fall semester. These levels are designed to cater to all students, whether they have had experience in the English language, or they are being exposed to it for the very first time.
The five (5) levels of study available at EICI are as follows:
LEVEL 1: Beginner.
Little previous exposure to the language. Can use and recognize common words, greeting and expressions. Limited grammatical knowledge.
LEVEL 2: Lower Intermediate.
Can talk about interest and everyday activities, use basic grammatical constructions. Can ask and answer questions about familiar topics and discuss past and future activities.
LEVEL 3: Intermediate.
Converses easily on everyday matters but with a limited range of style and expression, high level of grammatical competence.
LEVEL 4: Low Advanced.
Excellent command of vocabulary and all functional language. Writes accurately with few grammatical errors.
LEVEL 5: Advanced.
Confident communicator, may lack vocabulary in specialist areas but can express and support opinions with a high degree of fluency and accuracy.
